The Android application, which is geared towards providing all the features available in iPhone and iPad devices for helping patients manage their medical care more pro-actively and access the social supports they need. The Android version is now available to with select group of Beta users. "When you or a member of your family is going through a health crisis, it can be a confusing, frustrating and isolating experience," explains CEO of PocketMedi Inc, the company that developed the app. "PocketMedi connects patients and families to a wealth of information and social supports, and gives it to them in a convenient, mobile format."
The Android Version of the app includes a suite of integrated tools for: Organization and navigation: Keep track of symptoms, specialists, medications and treatments with text and video notes, and get access to hospital layouts and staff information right on your phone. Social sharing: Even when you're in the hospital for an extended stay, you can share updates, photos and videos with friends and family, synch with your Facebook account, and create and manage events such as fundraisers and health education. Education and support: Use PocketMedi to find other patients and families who are facing the same challenges, and connect to hospital support staff such as chaplains and social workers. Exchange information, articles, new discoveries and words of encouragement with your trusted networks.
The PocketMedi application can also be white-labeled for hospitals wishing to customize the PocketMedi environment with their own brand elements.
